The Celebration of the Arts is a week-long celebration of the arts that occurs in the end of April every year, with two fantastic events as bookends. First, it’s Lewisburg’s largest and oldest festival, the Market Street Arts Festival held the last Saturday in April with 100’s of artists, a variety of live music, including a special music feature selected each year to headline the event, plus children’s events and great festival food.
The Lewisburg Arts Council is proud to announce the 2015 Featured Artist, Sharon Koppel. Her “passion is creating contemporary wall quilts where fabrics compliment and contrast, where designs are wonky and unusual, and where the piecing lines often aren’t straight. Rarely is one piece in a quilt the same as another.” To find out more about her, visit her website at www.artquiltsbysharon.com.
The Celebration of the Arts is anchored by two main events:
The Arts Festival, Saturday, April 25th, 2015 – art, entertainment, and food all along Market Street
Lewisburg Live!, Saturday, May 9th, 2015 – 8-10 bands in venues throughout downtown
Returning again this year: Plein Air Painting, April 26th - Plein air painting at various Merrill Linn Conservancy sites.
