Downtown Lewisburg is a special place. Unique. Distinctive. Energetic. Friendly.
When the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership first formed in 1999, volunteers held community meetings to get input. At that time, there were 13 vacant storefronts and a lot of concern for the health of downtown. The most important issue identified, hands down, was a lack of unity and cooperation between the borough, the business community and Bucknell University. The second issue identified was filling the vacancies.
Since then, a representative of the Borough, of Bucknell, several from the business community, plus other community leaders have met monthly at the LDP board table to work together to keep the downtown thriving including the Borough, Bucknell, community leaders, and local businesses. All of these entities successfully work together as part of the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership.
The LDP is a Not-For-Profit corporation that has been designated by the IRS as a charitable organization under the 501C3 section of the tax code. All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
