February

Heart of Lewisburg
Ice Festival
The Heart of Lewisburg Ice Festival is held each year during the first week in February. Tons of ice art sparkle in downtown Lewisburg and Hufnagle Park. An ice sculptor will carve large interactive sculptures on site in Hufnagle Park on Friday. The event includes children’s games in the park, live musical events, entertainment and dining specials, plus the Polar Bear Plunge into the Susquehanna River and a chocolate lovers festival.
April

Lewisburg
Festival of the Arts
Lewisburg Festival of the Arts is a week-long celebration of the arts that occurs in the end of April every year, with two fantastic events as bookends. First, it’s Lewisburg’s largest and oldest festival, the Market Street Arts Festival held the last Saturday in April with 100’s of artists, a variety of live music, including a special music feature selected each year to headline the event, plus children’s events and great festival food. The following Saturday evening is Dance to the Music, free music in 6-8 downtown venues. It’s one of the most fun evenings out in Lewisburg all year! Hometown
Independence Day Celebration
Huge Hometown Independence Day Celebration, held the weekend BEFORE the Fourth of July in Lewisburg, is an all-American small-town extravaganza. The weekend starts with a concert and fireworks Friday evening, and the Union County Veteran’s 4th of July parade on Saturday, plus an AYSO dance and all-American movie at the Campus Theatre. The parade is more than an hour of colorful, festive hometown fun, featuring mummers, marching and string bands, re-enactors and local entries. Why the week BEFOREthe 4th? So the parade committee can feature (and afford) bands and musicians that will be playing elsewhere on the 4th, giving central Pennsylvania a caliber parade that would otherwise be unavailable.
July

Woolly Worm
Festival and Prognostication
Woolly Worm Festival and Prognostication, Pennsylvania’s OTHER weather prognostication festival is held on a mid-October Saturday each year. It is a little known fact that the striped coats of the cute and cuddly Woolly Worm caterpillars give clues to the length and severity of winter. The event features a lot of Woolly Worm fun, including the prognostication by an “expert” team of local judges, and an annual story-teller, plus food and music.
Halloween Parade
On a Saturday in the end of October, it’s the Halloween Parade, sponsored by the Lewisburg Area Recreation Authority. Hufnagle Park is decorated with scarecrows every year for the event, courtesy of the Lewisburg Garden Club
