Cora relocated to the Lewisburg area in 2013 to pursue a career at Geisinger. She fell in love with the area and now calls Lewisburg her home. She works at Geisinger’s Department of Developmental Medicine as an Associate Professor and Psychologist focused on clinical research with individuals with developmental disabilities and rare genetic disorders.
Steven Stumbris
Secretary
Steven Stumbris is the Director of the Bucknell University Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Under his leadership, the center has helped thousands of businesses start, grow, and prosper - and has twice been recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration with the SBDC Excellence and Innovation Award for Pennsylvania.
Steve founded BizPitch: Bucknell’s student startup competition, helped launch the university’s community-based business incubators in Lewisburg, Danville, and Milton, and serves as a Fellow for Bucknell’s Perricelli-Gegnas Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. He has hosted and co-produced WVIA television’s Keystone Edition Business, sharing stories of Pennsylvania’s entrepreneurs, innovators, and business leaders.
Steve serves on the boards of the Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development Corporation, Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Lewisburg Downtown Partnership. He holds a Master of Professional Studies in Community and Economic Development from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.
Lori Wilson is the Executive Director, Business Services at Bucknell University and has worked at Bucknell over 30 years. She has lived in the Borough of Lewisburg with her husband, Marty, and their 3 sons since 2001. Lori loves every minute of borough life including biking the Buffalo Valley rail trail, dining at the local restaurants, shopping at local stores and enjoying the parks in town. She is also involved with the Lewisburg Neighborhoods and The Campus Theatre.
Kendy Alvarez is a civic and economic development professional dedicated to strengthening rural communities through entrepreneurship, cross-sector collaboration, and inclusive leadership. Born in Trinidad and Tobago and raised in rural Pennsylvania, she brings both lived experience and professional expertise to advancing place-based economic strategies that support small businesses and local vitality.
She currently serves as Project Manager with the Covation Center, where she supports entrepreneurial growth, strategic partnerships, and program development designed to expand access to capital, mentorship, and business resources. As Principal of Chaconia, LLC, she has guided nonprofits and small businesses through strategic planning, organizational realignment, and ecosystem-building initiatives that connect communities with higher education and institutional partners.
Alvarez’s board and volunteer service—including Partners for Campus-Community Engagement, First Community Foundation Partnership GSV, Lewisburg Downtown Partnership, and other regional organizations—reinforces her belief that entrepreneurship is foundational to rural economic resilience. A Policy Fellow with the Open Discourse Coalition, board member of the Pennsylvania Municipal League and Pennsylvania State Mayors Association, and alumna of the Appalachian Leadership Institute, she integrates economic development with civic engagement and regional strategy.
She currently serves as Mayor of Lewisburg Borough, where she brings her professional expertise in entrepreneurship and rural revitalization to public leadership.
